The current rise of populism challenges the way we think about peopleâs relationship to the economy. We seem to be entering an era of populism, in which leadership in a democracy is based on preferences of the population which do not seem entirely rational nor serving their longer interests. ...

Awesome, LOL.
but … but … it’s no surprise that Republican candidates are all rich, white people. Multi-millionaires are the smartest and most competant people, and most of them are white.
I mean, look at lame old Obama on his sub-million annual income .. pfft, professor of law and former editor of the “Harvard Law Review”. Who cares!
Real smart people are worth tens of millions. Just look at the current president…..
I notice they’re not showing the new guy on their billboard. đ He’s cool!
Oooh, look at that, the Daily Show has the same token diversity as the Nat’s!
When will Steve be posting on the blatant racism shown toward African American and Female comedians?
Yes, thanks Phil. You better get out your bullhorn and run around to comedy central’s head office and accuse them of under-representation of women and minorities on their comedy satire current affairs show.

On a related note, did anyone see the episode where the brown guy (I use the term for reasons which will become apparent shortly) was being interviewed by Stewart regarding mexican immigrants working in fast food? Went something like this..
Stewart: And… so… do you have any special… ummm… empathy for these people Assif?
Love the billboard too, especially since you just know that all the stodgy old white guys will get all red in the face and phone their lawyers and stuff when they see it. Awesome.
Obviously if they were old and white but not stodgy they wouldn’t be going to the republican convention. As Bush said a few years ago, he sees stodgy old white guys as his “base”.
Assif: Uh, I’m not quite sure what you mean there Jon…
Stewart: Well, you know, I’m just saying that…
Assif: Oh, you mean because I’m brown, and they’re brown?
Stewart: Well yeah.
Assif: Ah, no no, you misunderstand the situation Jon. See, they’re taco-bell burger-king brown, whereas I’m Cardiologist Tech-support brown, it’s a totally different thing.

Ahhhh, satire and sterotypes…
T-Rex: I bloody LOVED that episode.
Jon Stewart is a genius, hes takes on both sides, by making fun of people’s sterotypes.
