Slater deleting posts

Written By: - Date published: 7:56 am, September 6th, 2014 - 66 comments

Cameron Slater is deleting posts from his Whaleoil blog. Down the memory hole. Anything he deletes is, of course, of interest in the current dirty climate. Most of it relates to Cathy Odgers / Cactus Kate, but there are exceptions (written by or paid for by others?).

Nasty negative Nats

Written By: - Date published: 10:02 am, September 3rd, 2014 - 20 comments

Disgraced ex minister Collins calls Cunliffe a moron. Another John Ansell negative billboard campaign coming. The Nats are nasty as well as dirty. If only there was some positive alternative…

Whitewash inquiry

I know, let’s put on a production of Hamlet, but leave out the role of the Prince of Denmark.

Peters v Collins

Written By: - Date published: 1:53 pm, August 29th, 2014 - 69 comments

Peters is standing by his claim that camp Collins approached him about working with her as PM.  Peters says he will “swear an affidavit”, strong language indeed, and Collins has every reason to lie.  Why is she still a Minister anyway?

Watkins – independent media?

Written By: - Date published: 1:13 pm, August 23rd, 2014 - 43 comments

So, in the midst of a massive dirty politics scandal involving assorted nats and their attack bloggers Slater and Farrar – who does Tracy Watkins turn to to provide commentary? Why, Farrar himself, of course. Classy.

English to lead the National Party?

Written By: - Date published: 8:54 am, August 22nd, 2014 - 67 comments

Bill English was the first senior Nat to distance himself from Key’s dirty politics. Now, according to one of our commenters (Tracey) who was called, the Nats’ polling company is sounding out English as a possible party leader.

Working with senior nats for release

Written By: - Date published: 3:00 pm, August 20th, 2014 - 17 comments

I trust that the media will be interested to know which senior Nats Slater was working with on the release of data hacked from Labour servers.

What went on at the ‘horn?

Written By: - Date published: 11:02 am, June 17th, 2008 - 55 comments

Reports have been circulating around Wellington for several weeks about a night on the town for John Key with a couple of senior (though not old) Press Gallery members. Apparently John called them up and said he was in town and did they want to go out for a drink. One drink turned to a […]

Abandon ship

The HMS National Party appears to be adrift and taking on water. No surprise to hear that another leak has sprung up. Strangely though, this one’s from the Northern Club. A source there tells me that National will soon be launching a billboard campaign. Watch this space.

DigiPoll: Nats down, Labour up

Written By: - Date published: 11:26 am, September 29th, 2007 - 2 comments

The Herald DigiPoll survey puts National on 44.8 per cent support, down 5.5 points on the August poll. That’s its lowest rating in the survey since February. Labour is up 2.8 points to 39.6 per cent. This is a dramatic closure. The Herald puts it down to “a month when National’s leader, John Key, has […]

The knives are out

Written By: - Date published: 12:38 pm, September 20th, 2007 - 1 comment

A reliable Wellington source tells me he had the pleasure of dining at a table next to Bill English and family a few weeks back. Once the kids were out of the way Bill dished up a smörgÃÂ¥sbord of tasty gossip, both personal and political. Apparently English made no bones about it, his leadership ambitions […]
