Campaign for a living wage is protesting the offices of National MPs this Saturday to protest increases in GST and the miserly increase in the minimum wage.

The protest is part of Unite union’s campaign to force a referendum on raising the minimum wage to $15. At the moment they have 100,000 signatures but need 300,000 to force a referendum

If you haven’t signed their petition you can get a copy here. Make sure you get your friends and family to sign too.

For more information about the national action on Saturday visit their facebook group.

There is no spam protection any more or have I passed the quarantine period? Just incase something is amiss with the site and we get inundated with crap.

Latest bulletin on spam – lprent is looking into it – it’s out and may be gone for some time, or not if the reason can be traced quickly.

May I suggest John Key’s Huapai office would be the best spot, since it will probably be closed, but mainly because the beer and wine festival is on at Kumeu. Then you can all go and get smashed afterwards.

  4. Incredibly sad, a facile cynical and arrogant move by NZ NAT PM, destined now to oblivion, and a reputation as being bereft of skill.
New Zealand is a high cost, low wage, low dollar, foreign investor Country supported by the Maori party.

What has changed? It has been this for quite awhile, and evan when in wasnt inthe late 60’s we were held up by what atthe time was heavy borrowings and a plan? that was destined to fail, and guess what it did. And excluding the 84-87 period we have done little to change the situation. And the current crop (Yes Nats & Lab) appear to have no idea of how to propose a plan, instigate the plan and sell this to the people. The left may cringe at 84-87 period but at least we got something visionary.
I am still waiting for what the desired position for the min wage to achieve or is this it and it gets linked to CPI/inflation or whaever in future?

Should a below-inflation minimum wage increase as part of good government be a criminal offence in New Zealand?
