  1. SPC 1

People will talk about higher rates or utility charges as how things "water" infrastructure will be afforded.

However those at the council level – are aware of investment constraints such as debt caps and debt costs (because of a limited ratepayer base).

There probably needs to be some sort of PGF part 2 set up – to provide capital grants, interest free loans and debt guarantees.

Such would make urban centre decisions on regional partnerships so much easier.

It's a colour revolution thing – this is what happens when "influencers/hired guns" get offshore funding to demonise local left wing politicians.

And the right wing narrative has long used the idea of a women to blame for undermining the righteous order (Sky TV Oz would demonise our PM for things their current leader is doing but now with little response – because of course he would be in a position to respond – they prefer cheap shots from a distance, or local fronts).

The fact free claims as to well-being, reflect the feels of inconveniences on middle class lifestyle during pandemics.

Pure Jordan Peterson narrative there. Women = chaos. The link between right wing thought and misogyny is strong.

This Dr Loupis is one of those crazy conspiracy theorists. One wet day last year I had so much fun replying to some of the more unhinged posters on her site. Very naughty. I was not nasty or trying to rebut, I just asked why they were being misleading and spreading conspiracy theories.

I actually was able to provide some info about the NZ situation that some did not know. Won't say it changed their minds.

The so easy slide from anti vax to non believers in climate change

She needs to be “put away.”

Holy fuckin moly, is this how unhinged it is? And taken seriously?? And these people demand sympathy?

How the heck are we supposed to 'listen to' and 'empathise' with this? It's demented, sick. They're inviting their own destruction. It's Jeremy Clarkson level perverted.

“At no time did he reveal he was a journalist from The Spinoff, instead introducing himself as a writer,” the mayor’s spokesperson said.

Reminds me of the scene in "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid" – "I didn't know you were Butch Cassidy when I accused you of cheatin' – If I draw on you, you'll kill me"

To me, certain movie lines are underrated parables for life-learning. The one from Butch Cassidy reminds us that there are people out there who will only browbeat people who are weaker than they are and can be relied on not to fight back.

So what if he didn't reveal he was a journalist? Why does that matter? Leave aside the debate in the article that he actually DID reveal it. Does it mean that Brown feels he has the right to treat people with no voice in the community differently to those who do? That's the only conclusion I can draw from what that remark means in the “…lines between the lines…”.

What if Sam Brooks was standing next to a writer who Brown spoke at (sorry, can't give him the credit of holding a proper conversation)? What if he wasn't even there, but heard about it later, from the source?

Brown is trying to define himself as a grumpy old bugger who speaks his mind, but the lesson from the fast-but-not-fastest gunslinger in Butch Cassidy is useful to recall here. IMO this is a telling signal that Brown's fully in control of himself – apart from the occasional tantrum, picking and choosing the appropriate times (to him) when he can belittle others and when it's in his interests to keep his mouth shut. That's not a grumpy old bugger who speaks his mind, that's something different.

He'll come a cropper one day. Even the thickest of the thick – and we have our fair share of them – will see through him.

He's no longer young and agile of mind so his past successes at 'fooling people all of the time' will be far less likely. The more journos and reporters he spars with the better.

Not least in an election year when swinging voters see him as right of centre…
