This is how to teach the reo. A whole heap of us honkies will never forget what ure means, 🤣

Funny, officially confirmed what I’ve always suspected was the case. lol

Up in Marlborough is a river called the Ure after its Yorkshire namesake. In Māori this river flowing through limestone country is called the Waimā. I have always enjoyed this bilingual happenstance.

Good one bwaghorn. We can count on you to give a perceptual look at what catches your eye from the rural POV. That includes practical not just the latest meme.

Dr. Cut and Paste finally has a go at summing up the appalling toxicity in the National Party.

Apart from Hooton's tender skewering of that corrupt skeleton, Peter Goodfellow, my favourite parts are, another Hooton comment:

National is "in a world of chaos and pain that not even Labour endured through the 2010s" and "is in worse shape than even Helen Clark's Labour in 1995 or Bill English's National in 2003."

Lol. And dear old farmer, lawyer, journalist, National Party member, Liam Hehir asking for any future National Party candidate selection processes to have mental health professionals involved!

I believe some form of basic psychometric testing would be a good idea. That kind of thing is hardly foolproof since skilled manipulators are unsurprisingly good at manipulating testing. Still, it would weed out enough bad eggs to be a worthwhile exercise.

That's it, Liam. Assume they are not right in the head until they can prove they are…or, you could try being a good judge of character for once in your life.

Thousands of businesses do job interviews every single day better than this lot of idiots. How can we trust them with anything remotely to do with governance?

It is unfortunate if the North port decision comes at the price of the Marsden Refinery downgrade. I have the feeling that there may be an lack of the skills in walking and chewing grum at the same time here.
