As the favourite historian of the right wing, a confused Paul Moon backs living dinosaur Bob Jones over his disastrous and since deleted Waitangi Day column in the NBR.

    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11990499

Bob Jones is easy to dismiss and obviously a troll from way back (he even dares to compare himself with Bill T James), decades before social media was even a thing but Paul Moon is altogether a more dangerous item. NZ’s version of that Canadian crackpot pseudo-scientist, Jordan Peterson.

But Moon’s not dangerous today, rather deranged. He awkwardly defends Bob Jones claiming it’s fine and ‘obviously’ a satire piece while blaming the NBR (not a satire publication) for running it. He then praises Jones for being provocative and ‘getting people to talk about the issues’.

If there’s one thing Waitangi day doesn’t need it’s more racist, white, walking skeletons asking for Maori to deliver them breakfast in bed.

    • weka 1.1

ok, that explains the tweets I saw earlier talking about what satire is.

    • Jack Ramaka 1.2

Moon is a white man who thinks he knows about Maori History.

Jones is a racist biggot always has been.

    • mikes 1.3

“NZ’s version of that Canadian crackpot pseudo-scientist, Jordan Peterson.”

So you don’t understand his viewpoints, or you disagree with him, so he must be a crackpot..

His points seem very credible and his reasoning excellent in the following interview where he completely dismantles a channel 4 ‘journalist’ and literally leaves her speechless. Then again, as an interviewer she is pretty terrible.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMcjxSThD54

Would be interesting to hear which of his viewpoints you disagree with, he seems pretty well researched to me.

Many thanks to Elon Mus for his promotion of the Tesla elictric car to the Universe this is what we have to drive to save Papatuanukue from turning into a very uninhabitable environment
    Ka pai

    • Anon 2.1

Rich mans games, Elon Musk sounding very eccentric these days. Truth is he’s failing to produce anywhere near the number of electric cars he’d intended, and at much higher prices. We’re going to have to look to other companies if we want to switch to electric vehicles.

  3. eco maori 3

ECO MAORI is ignoring boob mones he is a irrelevant fossils just try to stir up negative publicity against MAORI this is happening because ECO Maori is showing the common people of Atoearoa and the world a more positive view on the reality of us Maori culture people many thanks boob mones you have just confirmed there is a huge ECO Maori effect Ka kite ano

  4. eco maori 4

I got my wife to download a lot of information on OUR Maori culture historical tradition I won’t say religion because Maori did not have a word for religion I say OUR Maori culture because everyone in Atoearoa is influenced in some way by Maori culture in my reality. It is one of my goals to educated all the people in Atoearoa about the reality of Maori culture and dismisse the farcical image painted by the neoliberals shit stirs like boob mones These people will learn to respect me and other Maori culture people we respect all the living creatures and all the environmental things on Papatuanukue

No Maori ancestry in our family, but… Miss 13 is now at High School and has chosen Maori Language as one of her subjects, she loves our Maori culture, she feels it, I’m super proud of her.

      • eco maori 4.1.1

Many thanks cinny its awesome that people are learning Maori culture but one has to be careful as some of the books like mataurangamaoritikiorg which is a government pruduced education site has some information that damage Maori Mana subliminaly in my view
        Ka kite ano

    • eco maori 4.2

Hillary and Jeremy on TVNZ ON 1 AT 7 PM not to worry I can see the big picture we need to have a positive view of OUR police force as they have a important job of protecting and caring for all the people in Atoearoa I am just teaching them to respect and treat MAORI humanly after all its the undercover neoliberals cops who started this farcical vendetta against me. I am just defending myself and my family And all Brown people of Atoearoa they will learn not to _______with ECO Maori

    • Jack Ramaka 4.3

      Tradition of Io ?

    • Anon 4.4

Yip. When millions of taxpayer dollars go to corprate iwi entites and there’s still no lifting Maori out of poverty happening it does affect everyone. When jobs go to literal off shore slave owners because that’s how Maori choose to use their customary fishing rights that does affect everyone.

There’s a lot of this demand for respect of our ‘betters’, of those given extra resources and rights over the rest of us, but all we get is bashed over the head by entitled little tribal dictator fiefdoms – there’s never any respect, respectful discourse, or reason to respect. Indeed I resent these dictatorships trying to invade our democracy – bullying people into doing what you want isn’t any way to make friends.

I welcome improved perception and relations, I really do, but it’s going to be a massive uphill battle.

    Meanwhile… in Tauranga….

Can I hear some loud chanting from nat MP’s and wanna be nat MP’s?
    “NORA! NORA! NORA!”
Is there going to be a leadership change?
    “NORA! NORA! NORA!”
Didn’t think so… No Other Real Alternative.

    • BM 5.1

      Who’s Nora?

      • Muttonbird 5.1.1

        Bingles is Nora.

        • Cinny 5.1.1.1

Yup, and he is all they have

          • BM 5.1.1.1.1

Probably a good idea people like stability and they’re surely not getting it with this Labour government.

It’s going take a miracle for this government to last more than one term.

PM up the duff and her hated fill in from what I’ve been reading around the
            blogs not in great health.

            • Muttonbird 5.1.1.1.1.1

I’m sure the blogs you read wish the worst for Winston Peters. That’s how RWNJs roll.

            • Jack Ramaka 5.1.1.1.1.2

Don’t like “the Lipstick on the Pig.”

              • Anon

Jacinda’s the lipstick, the Labour Party is the pig. Eventually the pig’s going to fart or something and people will remember the substance of the party they’re looking at.

I /seriously/ don’t get how people didn’t understand the annology, is the left seriously that reactionary now that they’ll jump to the moon with conclusions?

            • Cinny 5.1.1.1.1.3

BM would you like to make a wager on that?

I’d be keen as…. a self imposed ban wager…. re the outcome of next election?

I see a three in bills future if he lasts until then.

              • Planet Earth

Cinny – given your certainty last year that “Alpha Andy” was the second coming of Christ, you’ll understand if we take your reckons with a grain of salt? 😉

Bob Jones has managed to troll all those good kiwi citizens that for one reason or another have had a sense of humour bypass.

    • Muttonbird 6.1

      The ‘only joking’ gambit.

Trouble for that indecent dinosaur is that it wasn’t remotely funny, and there’s a peculiar look, even with attempted humour, to an old white property developer demanding brown people wash his car for free.

Let’s face it, this is a facsimile of the tweet by that absolute crank, Sean Plunket when he supported Harvey Weinstein and trolled women and particularly women abused by achieving white men…and then claimed he was ‘just starting a conversation’.

How did that work out for him?

    • AB 6.2

And if this was true (which it isn’t), then why does Bob get a column to troll “good kiwi citizens”, when “good kiwi citizens” (me, for example) don’t get a column to troll Bob?
It would be exceptionally easy to troll Bob – just lavish completed justified praise on the writing of his younger brother Lloyd, while demonstrating what shallow, illiterate trash Bob churns out. Easy peasy.

    • Ah, the cry of the bigots when they get called on their bigotry: But we only having a laugh, waaaaah.

Hint: If the people you’re laughing at aren’t laughing then it wasn’t a joke.

    • McFlock 6.4

For his next comedy gag, he’ll put on blackface and sing ol’ man river. Such an expert troll!

  7. Jack Ramaka 7

NZ could have it’s first Maori PM if Bridges is elected as leader of the Opposition National Party.

I see CNN America news eco knows they read his post is debateing Sport illustrated swimsuit limited edition this is a topic we need to talk about. Eco Maori view is if we want men to respect ladies we have to take the sex sell out of MSM out of all public viewing some mite call me out with the breach to my privacy but there is a time and place for most thing. I say that all media that exploits ladies beautiful body’s for that fact should be legerslated to be view in private settings away from the views of the mokos. And rated x what ever so one has to specifically look for that content. We don’t have to have this poking us all in the eyes where ever we look. This is what has to happen for equality for Lady’s and stop people treating ladies as sex objects. Ka pai

RIP writer and Grateful Dead lyricist John Perry Barlow.

    Principles of Adult Behavior

    1. Be patient. No matter what.
    2. Don’t badmouth: Assign responsibility, not blame. Say nothing of another you wouldn’t say to him.
    3. Never assume the motives of others are, to them, less noble than yours are to you.
    4. Expand your sense of the possible.
    5. Don’t trouble yourself with matters you truly cannot change.
    6. Expect no more of anyone than you can deliver yourself.
    7. Tolerate ambiguity.
    8. Laugh at yourself frequently.
    9. Concern yourself with what is right rather than who is right.
    10. Never forget that, no matter how certain, you might be wrong.
    11. Give up blood sports.
    12. Remember that your life belongs to others as well. Don’t risk it frivolously.
    13. Never lie to anyone for any reason. (Lies of omission are sometimes exempt.)
    14. Learn the needs of those around you and respect them.
    15. Avoid the pursuit of happiness. Seek to define your mission and pursue that.
    16. Reduce your use of the first personal pronoun.
    17. Praise at least as often as you disparage.
    18. Admit your errors freely and soon.
    19. Become less suspicious of joy.
    20. Understand humility.
    21. Remember that love forgives everything.
    22. Foster dignity.
    23. Live memorably.
    24. Love yourself.
    25. Endure.

Breaking… A court in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, has sentenced former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to five years in jail in a corruption case.

Zia, the chairperson of the country’s main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), along with five others, was accused of embezzlement of funds meant for the Zia Orphanage Trust.

Tarique Rahman, Zia’s elder son who is vice president of the party, and four others have been given 10 years in the politically significant case ahead of the general elections.”
