I see the PM hasn't given up hope of having an overseas trip this year. It really isn't any fun being head of a Government in a country where the population is growing ever more aware that you don't really have the faintest idea how to carry out the functions of Government properly.

Far better to go off overseas, even if it is visiting Glasgow in November. I thought she might have abandoned the idea after the outbreak we are having but apparently not.

"A spokesperson for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet confirmed this trial was still on track to run between October and December."

"But Ardern clarified those taking part in the pilot would have to be either isolating on their own, or with the people they had travelled with".

I guess that means that Clarke and their daughter will also be travelling.

[Please give the time stamp of when/where in that clip the PM said she was still intending to travel to Glasgow later this year and that she’ll take part in the trial and that she’s planning to take Neve & Clarke along. Alternatively, withdraw and apologise for making it up and/or not linking to the correct piece or take a ban for spreading disinformation again here – Incognito]

Of course I can't produce such a thing. It is, as I commented once before, the only sensible hypothesis I could see that made sense of the original announcement. Since no announcement of any plan to go has been made I can't show that it is going to happen

I will say that I made up the viewpoint and there is nothing in the public domain that proves my view to be accurate. We shall see later in the year whether it had any reality or is just a wild supposition. I did say of course that my comment about her husband and daughter was just a guess. If it happens it wouldn't be the first time of course.

On the other hand you may remember that I was accused, last year, of making up the view that the Government, and Dr Bloomfield were not being honest when they said that there was plenty of PPE available. A moderator on this site said I was going to be banned unless I could produce a statement by a Minister that confirmed my viewpoint. Naturally there wasn't one. No Minister in the Government was going to say anything that conflicted with what the PM had announced. However somewhat later the Auditor-General examined the matter and his report confirmed that my view was accurate. Remember when that happened?

I may be right. It is quite possible that I am wrong. Only the future will show which it is. I still think it is quite likely to happen. However, as Niels Bohr said “Prediction is very difficult, especially if it's about the future!”

[You might be right, you might be wrong; a bob each way.

You made it up, or you were ‘predicting the future’. Hmmm …

It is impossible to tell from your word salad (aka smart arse reply) whether you’re withdrawing your BS and apologising or not and I’m no longer prepared to give you the benefit of doubt because you have no credit left and you’re wasting my time.

See you in 2 weeks – Incognito]

Yep – a sad day. I loved the early Stones – they even distracted me from the Beatles!

But I don't quite agree with some who are overdoing it by saying it was Jagger and Watts who made the Stones' music. Keith Richard does not have his name as co-composer of most of their songs for nothing.

@ In Vino (4.1) … I remember when the Stones first came onto the scene .. 1964/65 I think it was. They were branded the bad boys of music and at the time, were predicted not to last long. Despite the negative predictions, here they are fifty six years later, going strong with a massive fan base and still producing some great music. In the early days, one of the original members of the group, Brian Jones (RIP) would bring the harmonica alive with his playing, such was his incredible talent. He was amazing.

Long may the Rolling Stones music reign supreme. RIP Charlie Watts.
