Why on earth would the government want to make scanning in compulsory around what appears to be Wellington. They can just go down to the SIS and watch the camera's since it looks like they are carrying out a warrentless surveillance of the whole town. Who thinks this should ever be acceptable.

Well they got to start somewhere, never mind all the kiwis that were in Wellington and that then travelled home.

But i guess its Wellington and they really really want to make sure they themselves stay safe. Its not like its South Auckland or so.
And in saying that, how would they compare the sign in scans ? Vs bank statements? Lol. We are living in a brave new world comrade.

The difference between Carmel Sepuloni and Paula Benefit? None. They are the two faces of the same coin that is NZ and its unhoused, surplus population, that the government of either color has no fucking use for.

Nearly $100 million has been paid to the country's top 50 emergency housing moteliers, including one that received $7m in the nine months to March 2021.

The total figure is just $10m shy of the amount for the entire 2019/2020 financial year, and five times the amount from four years ago.

There is no – none – zilch – nada – nix – difference between Labour or National when it comes to those that are homeless in this country. Fucking useless bunch of expensive, overpaid, over challenged highly educated idiots all of them.

We desperately need to help people buy their own place. I'd rather see millions going to that and giving disabled stability and quality of life.

In the interview below there is a point where Dr H talks about the grants available to modify housing. Pointed out that if funded through ACC will tend to get more (no surprise there), but if funded via the MoH/DHB the grant is only given ONCE in the lifetime of the client. Too bad if they have to move from their rented accommodation because they will have to pay for modification themselves each time (!!).

What makes all of this worse is that Dr Hu has been advocating for 40 years. She says she is over it, and that while there have been some victories the system immediately puts up barriers elsewhere.

It would be lovely if the Minister for Disabilities sorted this once and for all.
