Perfectly fitting to put an ex-Minister of Agriculture as Chair of the Meat Industry Association, but it sure cements the politicisation of New Zealand agriculture.

Nathan Guy appointed the new Chairman of MIA | Scoop News

    Love this from Chris Trotter:

"While US women continued to be able to exercise personal control over their own fertility, their long-term participation in the paid work-force remained assured. The removal of that control in approximately half of the fifty US states raises serious supply and demand issues for American employers."

It's a good point, I suppose even Trotter occasionally makes them. One of the central tenants of capitalism is to have every adult soul hard at work all the time.

Does it matter if we yell at/ignore our kids for large parts of the day, every day, because we are all bent over at the alter of productivity?

      Probably.

Surely things will carry on as normal won't they? Bring in slave labour from other countries.

Imagine it it DJT were still Pres, he'd have Bannon selling ladders to Mexicans to scale the wall to get in and provide the workforce. To get over the wall he was paid for and didn't build.

Climate change on the back burner…and by the cheerleader. Anyone who thinks we will reduce our emissions until circumstances force it is delusional…such is life.

Well Harbeck (the green economy minister) said the economy is important (meaning the German economy) as Sri lanka ,Pakistan,Thailand are unable to purchase LNG due to cost (whilst Germany banks it for the winter)

And dosnt reduce demand….how many immigrants do you think they are willing to accept?…another million?

          • Poission 3.1.1.1.1

With an intergrated energy system in Europe, and the high risk of total loss of gas from Russia, the limited import hubs for LNG,the question will arise of who has first dibs.

Btw the German Nuke operators said the Minister was wrong, and they have sufficient fuel to operate to next spring (shut down scheduled nov 22)

I saw a Herald headline, "Political donations: National, Act cry foul over Government changes to donations rules" and knew that something good was happening.
