Fabian Society seminar in Wellington:
“Are there any new arguments for privatisation?” is on tonight 5:30-7:30 at Connolly Hall, Guildford Terrace, off Hill Street. Parking available in Guildford Terrace behind hall. Speakers are Dr Bill Rosenberg of the CTU and Fraser Carson of FRESCO.
Treasury is doing work on why New Zealanders oppose privatisation when they don’t, and the government has signalled that privatisation is likely to be on National’s policy agenda for the next election. The drums are already beating for another sell-off of our assets. The free seminar will look at the reasons for and against privatisation and the way likely arguments will be posed.
The server will be getting hardware changes this evening starting at 10pm NZDT.
The site will be off line for some hours.
