For nine long years we’ve seen lying, yelling, spreading rumours, bullying, keeping secrets, and name calling. We would not tolerate these behaviours in our children, but we’ve come to expect it from the party in government. We face so many big challenges as a country and it’s going to take grown-up politics to address it. The Green Party knows that politics can be done differently. It’s time to clean up the government.

Yeh I watched that last night, Boyle is insightful and on the mark as usual, but a bit sad watching poor Owen Jones trying desperately to earn back a bit of street credibility, have to say I was quite gutted when he came out against Corbyn’s leadership….

I know The Guardian was overtly against Corbyn, but I though Owen was their one (of a couple) token Corbyn supporters kept on to at lest try and offer a vague impression of fairness at the dodgy old Guardian.

I still find it a real shame that Owen ended up believing, and was willing, more or less, to support the false news that his newspaper and his professional class was forcing as a political fact on to the people of the UK.

Jones has been a consistent advocate for Labour’s Left.
He simply did what I did – looked through the entrails of opinion polling 2015-17 (pre-campaign) and realised just how dire Corbyn’s favourability ratings were.
Right, expect we knew all along that Corbyn was going directly head to head with the establishment political and media powers, so expected to see some negative polling, but all you had to do was look at the comments sections of The Guardian through to the Daily Mail, or on most youtube clips to get an idea to what actual people where thinking on the street, unscientific maybe, but not a bad broad indicator.
Owen buckling was doing EXACTLY what was expected of establishment political commentators by their masters, tow the line, tell the people the political narrative that they (the media) create, and Owen did just that, and at the most critical moment.
I don’t really give a toss about him really, I have always kind of liked him, but regarded him as a lightweight, and I guess my gut instincts were confirmed as correct.
Boyle rolls out his armoury in a quiet way and they almost slip away before you take them in. I caught him talking about the Conservatives use of Theresa May as her value to them being like using someone expendable to cross a minefield, or a chimp to go into space. A few words and he has sliced and diced someone decisively.
This is the real meat though, this is the Left ‘biting back’…the neo liberal Left in the UK are facing their well deserved and imminent extinction, a sea change in modern western Left politics has just unfolded beautifully before our eyes, and now only an ideologically challenged fool can claim that socialism is not a legitimate modern political alternative, and that free market centrism has largely been exposed as just another form of class war.
