The current rise of populism challenges the way we think about peopleâs relationship to the economy. We seem to be entering an era of populism, in which leadership in a democracy is based on preferences of the population which do not seem entirely rational nor serving their longer interests. ...
The server will be getting hardware changes this evening starting at 10pm NZDT.
The site will be off line for some hours.
Yeah.
Fuck knows the ongoing war in Sudan or the Pakistani deployment of tactical nukes to forward operating bases in along the Pakistan-India border with local commander launch authorisation isn’t newsworthy.
This broadcast has been approved by the Ministry of Truth.
Edward R Murrow:
We have currently a built-in allergy to unpleasant or disturbing information. Our mass media reflect this. But unless we get up off our fat surpluses and recognize that television in the main is being used to distract, delude, amuse, and insulate us, then television and those who finance it, those who look at it, and those who work at it, may see a totally different picture too late.
I know I keep saying this, but it keeps being too true.
Well. They must have had second thoughts. Been withdrawn.
I can’t believe people actually still watch scheduled news?.
Get with the times people, we have the internet.
As usual, that’s NOT the point
What is the point?
đ
Do you need it spelt out?
That ONE NEWS is making SIXTEEN magazine look good.
And you know that… how?
It was on the reception coffee table. I have no idea how it got there.
“What is the point?”
its there at the top of your head…..
BM stop being so techsist, people should be able to watch the news they PAY for and get a good service. Am sick of people saying that need to look on line for news – that ensures that anyone without a computer or people who are functionally illiterate are shut out of news. Having a public broadcast media is to ensure that we get news that is not bound to the Murdoch’s of the world. TVNZ news needs to lift its game not be abandoned!
Yep, gone are the days of current affairs shows like Town and Around with Keith Bracey.
TV One has really lost it these days, Paul Henry and TV3 is starting to look really good.
TVNZ never had it to lose as it lost any remaining credibility under ralston.
Its just blatant and openly low brow now with a focus on celebrity, rugby, reality show, fear driven pieces ec to remind you that this is the 51st state of the usa.
I see the page and Tweet are now. “Sorry, that page doesnât exist!”, and an error ‘404’
They obviously read The Standard.
This government has destroyed NZ public broadcasting.
I didn’t vote for any of it……but suffer anyway thanks to those who did.
Good reason to withdraw all public funding from TVNZ
