Appalling comments from the Leader oof the National Party, out of touch, we cannot let this man to be PM of our country
It's all a beat up anyway. The Nats set the NZ record for crossing the line so it's like the pot calling the kettle black. In plain terms Jacinda never promised Handley anything so what's all the fuss about?

you do see what's implicit in your comment?
What about the ... 'but it's ok if it's against Putin' Defence' surely that works
While I agree the nurses deserve more, there is a bit of a reek of middle-class capture about this. There are many just as deserving in the public service who are much worse done by and are likely to be getting SFA ... they, of course, are a few steps ...
Is the fact that your data is out by a decade on hoskings musings significant?
The trouble with each of the previous replies is that they fail to acknowledge how entirely predictable this predicament was. They should have seen it coming and it should have been publicly discussed/resolved during the formation of any coalition.
I'm sorry but that's a nonsense analogy... and to one of your other assertions, why is 'enforcing a monopoly just to ensure certainty of access [is], not a good idea'.

it provides an ease and a certainty of access for all the people that make up a society. The importance of these types of socially cohesive services really shouldn't need explaining.
I really like the things you are saying here Ad, but I can't believe your mother really said 'hearts and minds'
The only certain ‘unintended consequence’ I can see is that the complicity of the middle classes in creating our class based dystopia has come back to bite them. Click to Edit –
A crappy little deflection based upon the' we're deserving - they're not argument.
Ross, It is precisely because I believe that public safety is important that I am arguing that we need to hold political elites entirely accountable for the social, legal and economic preconditions of crime. There is much more to it than this aside... But ...
Quick answer Ross, no I don't think that victims (past tense) should be at the forefront of the Minister's thoughts on the impact that our current penal policy has on community safety and social order. Our penal system fits within a highly complex set of ...
@ Ross, That last sentence is a proposition that is often put, but since you have just presented it as an absolute...can you at least try and defend it.
Ad, The reality I refer to is this, no government can sufficiently restore to the working classes their deserved share of the economy as well as repair the social damage of the last 30 years without taking drastic action, that action might involve new ...
In the end Ad, any real change for the better to working-class lives can only come through a change to the lot and the expectations of the professional classes and above... Labour, as always, are unwilling to address the necessary extent of that reality
Yes Bill, her evolution to a system lacky has been slow but certain.
good on you Ad for seeing the comic irony in my comment, but you have piqued my interest. Hey I am absolutely with you on Habermas and David Harvey
Sorry...Peter who?
he or she probably assumes your continual nasty invective is most commonly connected to a J Key Nat supporter. I, however, think your just another nasty 3rd way-er overly invested in neoliberal identity politics.
Sorry I meant to post this here not above... @Enough is Enough. While I can’t lay my hands on this statement now, I read it while completing an MA in Sociology some years ago. It was by Slavoj Zizek and was to the effect that, immigration is the greatest ...

This is a really good post Ed. The psychological impact of this can't be overstated as people move to defend theirs and their families/groups/associations actions in recycling. This has the effect of making them complicit/defensive of the efforts at an ...
Good on you for writing on this Bill. I for one am tired of politics/diplomacy being a matter of interest, not ethics. This action spells out so clearly just how morally shabby the western alliance is. It's way past time for us all to refuse to take part ...
Good on you Ed, I would hope no one could watch this trailer and not question the morality of ignoring/defending such human actions towards animals
I wonder Wayne, do you think there is any correlation/causation between the amount you suggest the state subsidises rents and the amount working people are required to subsidise the economic business model ??
John where have you come from and would you consider going back there...you don't appear to be bringing much of any worth to this site
Well, that's not entirely true... it suggests a rudimentary lack of awareness that a >25% error is not immediately noticed by those preparing the report.
