         I know, it’s a real shame that this Digital Plan is the only thing that Labour have done in the past year and is the only thing they’re doing this year. If only they had other policy and initiatives. Or were going to run an election campaign. Or would work constructively with the Greens as potential coalition partners.

           Weka – you may well be correct that Labour’s computer games announcement is all they’ll do for Dunedin this year. While I’d like to hope Labour will do the other things you call for, bitter experience teaches me that none of them are likely.

             ok, fair enough. I live in rural Otago, so the idea that a political party would do something specific for an area multiple times in a year doesn’t seem very real to me (I was thinking about Labour’s attention to the country as a whole and how that affects the regions). How does Labour compare to National, NZF, the Greens?

   Sorry I’m so late in the day. Carolyn_nth at 4.2 is quite right. Because seating was stressed owing to large attendance, the young were asked to relinquish theirs and stand. Trolls above should have had insight to see that.
   It was indeed an impressive turnout to hear an impressive speech.

   Labour leader Andrew Little was in Dunedin yesterday to launch the centre, called ”Code”, which would have $10 million spent on it over the next 10 years.

   Same old faces I have seen for years and years at labour party meeting in Dunedin.

   We always laugh about our luck in Dunedin, when National is in power Dunedin does very well but when labour is in power the city dies.
   Perhaps this time it will change, thank you Mr Little but again a measly $10 million over 10 years is pathetic.

    Jesus the way the trolls have been squealing over the many posts these days methinks they are getting scared stiff and protesting too much – I have to give it to them they are true attack dogs in the employ of their masters and obediently doing as their told. They pollute these pages but hey we are staunch and can live with it even if it gets a bit tiring having to flick them off like pesky flies.

      ‘like pesky flies’. Yes just like. There is a type of fly that comes at you with a whine of its wings and practically butts you in the head. Very aggressive, goes away when you shake your head but often has another go. Possibly the ones that give ‘fly strike’ in sheep which end up carrying their maggots! That’s how I feel about the deadhead trolls that get attracted to this site.

    Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to see Labour getting a good reception. However, I’m a little confused by the posts like this that go out under “notices and features”. Editorialised with comments from a personal perspective and a positive headline packing all the informative power of “Cop Looks at Punk in Funny Way”, surely they should have a poster’s handle attached to them?

      If you need to know, I posted this one.

      It’s a fine line re notices and features. If the content is mainly quoted from elsewhere, as in this case, it’s usually notices (don’t want to claim credit for others’ work). If there is sufficient personal input or opinion, then it is signed by author. This one was a borderline for me, but it fell slightly to the notices side.
