Can I propose that TS becomes a national treasure.

A few days ago I lamented the inability to buy whiskey and was fed up with supermarket beer and wine

You guys offered several solutions which I combined to solve my dilemma.

I rang around some liquor suppliers, most offered deliveries via a courier. Due to living on a boat I could not offer a delivery address.

However, I rang a wee sole trader who loaded up his van and delivered himself. We decided my delivery address would be the carpark of the locked down business across the road. He drove his van around the block and deposited a case of whiskey in my already opened boot.

There are some damn good people in this world

    Thanks people.

No wonder Collins has been even more erratic and desperate.

Looks like they commissioned it – from their chum. I guess Collins has not been generous enough lately and he wants another benefactor in the seat.

Crikey! That woman is made of tougher material than swamp kauri. Any ordinary human being would have been crushed by the immense pressure by now. Oh, wait … she’s on TV …

Darn! No abdication just yet sad

The party vote numbers are terrible for National, but even worse is that nobody else in their caucus is seen as any kind of alternative.

It's largely forgotten now, but Ardern featured prominently in leader/PM polls for months before she became leader. As did Key before he led National. Both were obvious successors, already resonating with the public.

National today have nobody like that, at all. Only A.N. Other.

"The Government is planning to change the law to give itself another five months to come up with its much-anticipated plan for how New Zealand will reduce its carbon emissions."

Apparently the Auckalnd couple haven't been charged yet. On Sunday RNZ reported,

The couple – a 26-year-old woman and 35-year-old man – will be prosecuted for breaching the current Health Order.

The couple will be issued with a summons to appear in court next week.

Anyone know what the process for prosecution is? Will the charges happen at the court hearing?

"Brian Tamaki of the Destiny Church has used an online sermon to tell followers to "do away with the masks" and take a stand against a lockdown he describes as "home detention".

Tamaki went live on social media [yesterday] with the video message, using the sermon as an extended promotion for a nationwide protest planned for October 2.

"I want to talk about 'lockdown madness' and if you're an Aucklander you'll be particularly interested in this because we're the ones going through this and this is not the first time," Tamaki said. He described the lockdown as "home detention" and said the situation was like being a "hostage in your own home".

The self-styled "apostle" then claimed there was no difference from level 4 lockdown to the home detention meted out to criminals. "I believe it's time to stop all lockdowns. Finish them. No more lockdowns."

Tamaki also called for an end to New Zealand's elimination strategy as a course through the pandemic. He said the approach was "economically disastrous" and harming families and businesses and the flow-on effects would cause "social carnage"."

He told viewers that Måori & Pasifika communities had been "herded" into vaccination centres, that the long-term effects of the vaccine were "unknown", and also claimed the vaccine was "untested".
