The cost of our vaccine stroll out is going to be astronomical.

      • KJT 1.1.1

Is that all the right wing is capable of these days.

Generating inaccurate and I'll informed, memes?

LWNJ don’t like the facts do they? Worst rollout in the OECD.

          • KJT 1.1.1.1.1

Thanks for confirming my previous statement.

It contributed to NZ’s bronze medal position in Bloomberg's monthly Covid resilience ranking. The % of NZers vaccinated against Covid-19 will continue to rise, but this latest (Delta) outbreak won't help our ranking.

Norway is the new No. 1 in Bloomberg's Covid Resilience Ranking, with enough shots administered to cover almost half its population, few new fatalities and its borders unsealed. The embrace of travel amid falling fatalities put Switzerland second, while New Zealand – a stalwart of the top three after eliminating Covid – is third.

Are you still refusing to upgrade yr fone to assist in tracing purposes?

      • alwyn 1.2.1

If there is a book there I fill it in.

You could always give me one of your old ones, I suppose. How often do you upgrade your phone?

      • Janet 1.2.2

I would have to buy a new phone and then do I have to also buy data for that app to work.? Think I will sign in the book.

        • alwyn 1.2.2.1

I may be wrong but I don't think you even need a sim card for the app to work.

You don't have to have a plan or be able to make calls.

I think so but not owning such a phone I am not sure of either of these statements.

Well at least their parents are at home.

  2. Jester 3

Yes it would be nice now if we had around 50% – 60% vaccinated.

  3. Patricia Bremner 4

Well we are lucky, 170 days with none.

This is serious and we all need to behave well, to overcome a super spreader event. Those back from Australia and Europe say it is terrible when it gets embedded.

Wonder how all those pushing for the aussie bubble are feeling about now?

    • Anne 5.1

Oh they never existed. It was all a mirage. Ask everybody in the country and they'll all say the same "it wasn't me". 🙄

    • mary_a 5.2

@ pat (5) … Yes. All quiet on the Opposition's front at the moment, considering National was very vocal recommending an Aussie bubble.

  5. pat 6

indeed…the same dickheads bemoaning the vaccine roll out no doubt.

    • yeah, where are the Plan B guys now? Silent and home isolating, telling themselves “it was just an idea…I didn’t mean it”
    • I hope

Looking forward to Airhead Hosking's latest prevarication on whether he is going to punish NZ by forsaking us for Oz. I wish he would just go.

No doubt he will find a way to blame the Govt., probably re vaccine rollout, while not mentioning the fact that our Govt has so far protected us well by not following the 'subtle nuances' of the Australian policies which already have New South Wales in far greater trouble than us, despite the fact that Hosking was roasted by Ardern back before Christmas while trying to tell her that her govt should be adopting such 'subtle nuances'… Idiocy on two legs, or maybe sitting in a Maserati.

what are the odds of the south island lockdowning past Sunday i wonder … ? … methink low low … if none found… i just got stuff to do

  8. Anker 9
    • VTO, methinks it will all be about the sewerage. If it covid free outside of Auckland it would be a good sign I think, but I am no expert…..

Interesting read. Human Rights Commission replies to SUFW.

    • Drowsy M. Kram 10.1

Thanks IFL, interesting read, especially the evidence in SUFW’s submission.

Re: SUFW’s opinion/submission on the HRC’s Prism report [19 Feb]
We [the HRC] have considered your [SUFW] submission and comments in our face-to-face meeting, including your concerns that women’s rights are being subsumed or usurped by the rights of transgender people. We do not share the view that the rights of women and transgender people are at odds with each other. Indeed, all people have the same human rights and freedoms and are born free and equal in dignity and rights.

      • Sacha 10.1.1

In a measured and referenced official response, this sentence stood out:

We strongly object to generically characterising trans women as a safety risk to cisgender women.
