The current rise of populism challenges the way we think about people’s relationship to the economy. We seem to be entering an era of populism, in which leadership in a democracy is based on preferences of the population which do not seem entirely rational nor serving their longer interests. ...

Well done Kevin good well put message
I will let my Mp know although being as it is Nick Smith,I don’t think he is listening
It’s uncomfortable having the flakiest of a pretty poor bunch of ministers as the local member. Smith’s mine too.
One little ray of hope is that he was the only prominent National member to reduce his majority in the last election, and of course since then the news of him has been all bad – and getting worse.
Anti-spam, so often oddly appropriate, describes him perfectly: “invalid”.
Good on Kev for the Movember support.
Reminds me of Key’s response to the matter: “While Prime Minister John Key is backing Movember, he has decided not to grow a moustache. His spokeswoman explains he believes it wouldn’t suit him and his wife, Bronagh, doesn’t like facial hair. He also has two big international meetings in November: Apec and the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting.”
So Key is:
More concerned with how he looks than charity.
Whipped.
Worried what the other leaders might think (forgetting that in some cultures facial hair is a sign of power).
Kevin should totally keep the mo.
And grow pointy eyebrows.
And wear mirrored shades and a trenchcoat.
There’s another great video on frogblog of new Green MP Dave Clendon addressing last week’s bikoi rally at Parliament.
Yes just saw that Toad. I heard it was a pretty good speech
Dave did very well and it was indeed good
Just shows you home much depth there is in the Green ranks
Thanks for posting the video. The problem being faced by Outofbed and Stacktwo is a very familiar one to me. After all, Nick Smith has Ministerial responsibility for ACC, environment and climate change issues. The scope for disappointment is great. What I suggest to Nelsonites is that when they make contact with him on any issue, they should also copy to Maryan Street and me. Not guaranteed to succeed, but it is sometimes amazing what an effect being watched can have.
Yeah, I tend to CC to Chauvel when I email Dunne for obvious reasons.
Shit! The Nats must be terrified now. A backbench, first term, opposition MP attacks them!
They’ll never survive this. Time to call an election.
You forgot ‘list’.
You can never have too many irrelevant adjectives when you lack the capacity to attack the substance, as my dear old Gran used to say.
