      There was a 3 week break in September every year ( party conferences)

      What Johnson has done has removed about 4- 5 "sitting days" from the Commons schedule. The debate about Brexit has gone round and round in circles for 18 months or so. More debate isnt required.

      Prime Ministers have prorouged parliament when it suits them before , Blair did it, Major did ( to get rid of questions in the lead up to an election)

      Harper in Canada did it for 2 months – a month after an election- as his minority government was going to be replaced by an opposition coalition.

      Australia does it every year now , to shut down the opposition controlled Senate over the long summer break.

      Listening to nonsense stories about an unsusual but valid parliamentary tactic doesnt provide a dose of reality ( you should look more closely at how the Remain Mps and the Speaker have broken conventions from 1600s about being a nuetral Speaker, to derail any sort of Brexit at all)

    A trial date has been set for Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, the alleged architect of the 9/11 attacks on the US.

    Mr Mohammad will be tried, along with four other men, at a military court in Guantánamo Bay from 11 January 2021.

    The men are charged with war crimes including terrorism and the murder of almost 3,000 people.

    The five men will be the first to go on trial, nearly 20 years since the devastating attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

    The carbon barons people wrote solar and wind clean green energy off saying it could never replace coal as the cheapest energy source. Now a few short years later these people have to eat there words as solar and wind energy is much clearer cheaper than coal.

    WHAT I'm getting at is there will be many attempts by the carbon people to put doubt in the 99.9 %, minds about carbon free flying being possible. Ma Te Wa in time this will be achieved . If there is a will theres a way.

    “It’s not tomorrow that we fly fully solar aeroplanes with passengers … but it will come,” says Piccard, who points to fuel-saving aircraft towing systems (ATS) and route-optimising software such as SkyBreathe as “an intermediate way” to reduce the carbon cost of flying.

    The other technology under exploration is battery-powered aircraft. Norway announced last year that it wants all short-haul flights to be electric by 2040.     Keith Quin a great sport reporter who has seen how bad some kiwis can behave at some sports events over seas. Some of it will be caused by the crowd effects phenomenon.

    Exactly my thoughts Keith Quin should have houners title before others I can think of.

    It would be nice to have some of the capital gains in Aotearoa flow back to the common tangata kia Ora.

    Its great to see that Aotearoa agricultural sector is stable and export prices on the rise

    I think with tamariki sports there should be a prize for the losing team tell them that losing is part of the game make all the players in the game feel good not just the winning teams.
