When will John Key hold his ministers to account?

Nick Smith can get away with bullying and intimidation.
Gerry Brownlee can break the rules he’s meant to enforce.
Murray McCully can have his department try and hide Malaysian sex criminals.
Jonathan Coleman can lie about what he knew about the FBI and Dotcom while he was granted permanent residency.
And that’s before we start talking about Judith and her glass of milk, or Hekia’s incompetence. (or trawling back further to the likes of English’s dodgy expenses).
John Key promised higher standards for his Ministers, but they appear to have carte blanche.
The likes of Coleman can claim to be following his example I suppose – with the number of times Key’s misled parliament (only some of which he’s corrected).
But we seem to have a number of sackable offences, but no sack.
I guess when you have a list that’s brought in the likes of Aaron Gilmore and Claudette Hauiti there’s not much of a pool to be choosing new ministers from; but have National never heard of responsibility for one’s actions?

I suspect Key will resign, should he win, when the housing market starts slipping. His work done.
You can tell, because of the lies about housing. How under Labour housing was so bad, when in fact under Labour, pre-GFC, housing was affordable and not an issue. Certainly not on the then opposition leaders John Keys agenda. So a bit hypocritical to be citing how badly Labour were oding on housing, when Key had no policy toward the housing crisis, and many rightly argue has done nothing (RB raised the amounted need above zero).
We can see now how it all worked, debt was king, government and reverse bank decided to indebtor the NZ economy, and would personal get richer, even richer after tax cuts for the richest.
We’ve seen this happen before through history, when cheaters take over government, instead of actively working for their wealth, they merely cheat and undermine the wealth of the nation to greedily take as much as possible. Whether, cow shit floating down our rivers, or child coughing their hearts into an early death as they live in the garage of their couz, or the huge farm and housing debt.
Its pretty clear we should arrest a lot of rich NZ like China is doing its favored elite class.

A different debate, but the point stands. Key was more worried that tax payers get a tax cut than the problem of the housing market. How government should return taxes to the tax payer. Which would have destroyed the zero debt on the government books. Didn’t actual return taxes to those that paid them, rather went to the wealthiest and came, astonishingly, with a TAX HIKE on GST.
And you wonder why Labour isn’t trusted, why have they been so silent for so long about the tax increase. Key RAISED taxes when he promise to lower them. If as we were told in parliament today, that incomes are not keeping up, then raising GST and lowering of top taxes was never balanced, it was and even bigger burden on the lowest paid in society when income slippage is taken into account.
