Did anyone else see the anti-John Key posters in Wellington yesterday morning? It was every National Party spin doctor’s worst nightmare: a picture of John Key looking rattled and wrinkled, placed on a black background next to the words that will no doubt come to haunt him during the election campaign: “Climate change is a complete and utter hoax”.
At a time when National’s desperately trying to inoculate climate change as an issue and even pretending to take it seriously, letting that little doozy into the public arena is the kind of thing you’d want to stop at all costs.
No surprise then that by the end of the day they’d all been ripped down. Seems the posters hit a raw nerve. Anyone manage to get a pic while they were still up?
Update: Thanks to a helpful reader, here’s a pic of one of the posters before it got ripped down.

The server will be getting hardware changes this evening starting at 10pm NZDT.
The site will be off line for some hours.
Yeah, I saw those too. There were a few up the Terrace and they seemed to last most the day. Poor old John, it must be hard not being able to decide what you want to say you stand for.
There’s a picture of the Johnkey posters up on flickr-
