This may be an unpopular opinion but as a feminist human being I agree with FF that we have an out-of-control porn epidemic that is ruining relationships and lives of both women and men, but especially women as the escalating sexual violence depicted is ...
Leave the Prime Ministers' baby out of this National party shitfest please. Nothing to do with her. How low can you go?
Info about risk to penguins here, but there was also something recently about South Coast penguins being wiped out this season in trawlers. I'll post it if I can find it. I wasn't just speculating but reporting on credible evidence http://www.newshub.co.nz...
I'm definitely still not convinced a pause is the right response given the reduced observer coverage. As you say above, there's no commensurate increase in physical observers, no time line committed to resolution, no addressing the capture of monitoring ...
He said the smaller vessel concerns were part of his concern, and 'technology and privacy' issues, so failing to address any of the issues NGOs raised as problems, just those identified by the fishing industry. Certainly the past National government made ...
Delaying the implementation until the fishing industry is happy with it will be interminable. This is just caving in - when it has already been going very very slowly. Of course Trident shouldn't be monitoring the information, but the Minister isn't ...
12% more than national in the special votes (see link) .Congratulations to Angie Warren-Clark in Bay of Plenty. She deserves this. 79.6% increase in party votes for the electorate in 2017 vs 2014. Great result. Let's do this! http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/...
In our current global regime, for those inside the 'club', all the rest of us people ARE weeds to be stifled and killed; or cattle, to be farmed for our labour and taxes.
Thanks! You're worth it!
DTB +1 Well worth watching.
We still haven't solved the problem of low-value exports. Exports are about 30% of GDP. Under National, this proportion is almost the same as when they took office. It seems we need more R&D, innovative products, more of our food and beverage companies ...
I hope Cunliffe doesn't interrupt Key. David doesn't need to. Just let Key tell lies. They will be refuted later in the media.
Biased reporting on TVOne News tonight. Pam Corkery didn't have a "meltdown". She was emphatic in the decision regarding interviewing Kim Dotcom. They didn't show how the journalists were behaving. The journos could have been louder than Pam. OK, she ...
Fantastic speech by David Cunliffe.
Shearer is an excellent minister, but didn't seem to want to be prime minister. I don't know why Labour wasted that time putting Shearer in the wrong position. It makes them look unfocused and undisciplined.
The reason a law hasn't been passed that requires men and women to get equal pay is that it would be expensive. The government likes the status quo and doesn't want to spend the money. How wonderful it would be if Labour passed that law. We would be a ...
The sound for David Cunliffe's speech here doesn't seem as good as when I watched the original. I wonder if you can do it again with better sound.
Does anyone know if the dole is linked to the government's Food Price Index? According to Statistics NZ, the annual change in the FPI from May 2013 to May 2014 was: food prices up 1.8%; fruit and vegetable prices up 5.6%; meat, poultry and fish prices up 0...
English is talking the Budget on Stuff now- http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/10047316/Budget-live-chat-Bill-English I propose everyone bombards him with actual questions. Not the ego stroking that seems to be going on at the moment
The best part for me was when David said, "I'm here to help." Lovely couple.
My whole experience at the supermarket checkout was unpleasant. The lady glared at me, the Kiwi cashier didn't greet me, the Asian bag packer swung her hand out within two inches of my face pointing to another cashier, and the bag packer forgot to include ...
Kiwis can behave rudely too. The other evening I was walking along the footpath of a fairly busy street. Two Kiwi teenage boys came riding towards me on their bikes at full speed. I decided not to jump off the footpath to make way for them as the footpath ...
That is not very compassionate of the neighbours. People don't realise that police cruise around in cars and can get there quicker than you think if a car happens to be near by.
Just saying that I felt surprised in the supermarket and on the street when going about my daily business - and described what I saw. I feel it's touching on human rights issues to be able to go about your daily business freely. I wondered whether anyone ...
Strange behaviour in the suburbs. I went shopping at another supermarket than my usual today. An Asian lady came right up to me and glared at me for no reason. I jumped. It was almost as though she was saying, 'Stay away from here.' Weird. The other ...
What has happened in Auckland in the last 3-4years? People on the street and on the beach are so defensive so as to scare other people away. People hog the footpath so I have to walk on the road. What happened to altruism, manners, thoughtfulness? I wonder...
Well done, David Parker. I liked the point he made about people "with connections" getting ahead. Going back to Cunliffe's goal of people in caucus progressing based on merit, let's also have a NZ where people can get ahead based on merit not connections.
Congratulations David Cunliffe. There's video on the One News website.
Cunliffe is doing a lot on social media like Facebook. He is reaching people.
Agree Hami Shearlie. I hope 3News managers are keeping an eye on Gower. All the good work that John Campbell has done could lose credibility if Gower goes unchecked. It seems as though it would harm the 3News brand.
Talking about what Cunliffe did in the past presumes that people don't change. People do change. People learn from their mistakes and grow. I prefer to talk about the present Cunliffe because that's what is real now.
