   I do wonder what this adds that hasn’t been said already and in a better way.

   Why do you keep on comparing people to f*scists? Do you think it’s smart or clever or do you think it makes you look like an immature loon that drags down the rest of the site?

   To be fair, the Act Party is the party of big business, anti-socialist ideologues, just as the Nazi’s were (i.e. what kind of left wing party bans trade unions and enjoys backing from the country’s biggest industrialists).

   And if Act did get their way, you would see full scale class war in NZ, which would mean the rise of a nasty, armed right wing force.

   We ain’t there yet though sprout ….

         ACT survives only due to the grace of Epsom National voters who feel their existence will help National. There is no mandate for Rodney beyond that.

           Those very Epsom National voters must be crying into their pinots as Rodney’s vision of Supercity is foisted on them. Power for power’s sake has its place but unless the power coincides with a vision acceptable to the community, then the power will be shortlived.
           Rodney’s trip to Disneyland, and his honest, however facetious, ramblings at the $45 breakfast sum the guy up.
           Act party people cannot get too upset; they only have a profile because of the trade-off in Epsom.

     It doesn’t actually matter if you think ACT are f*ascists. What matters is it’s an extreme view that no-one else buys, including most of the rest of the left .. by putting that among all the other good material on the standard you turn people off the site and colour all the other good work you do with a shade of crazy

     You gotta admit if they ever made a Mussolili movie Wodders has the right looks to be a perfect casting for the role…I saw him a few years ago standing on a platform electioneering, his body language and clenched fists were immediately redolent of the Duce. Perfect fit for the camera. Now I admit that doesnt make him even close to being a fascist but hell, I will never forget that image. Wod, if it all turns to custard turn to actung.

   The National SOCIALISTS were another branch of socialism and very big on workers movements – Nurembergs rally was very similar to Comrade Stalins little soirees he’s hold in Red Square. 🙂

   ACT doesn’t believe in class war. The only people in Parliament now who believe in that Cold War rhetoric are in the Green Party. Funny that the so called “far right” in NZ are anti big business and racists – a quasi half Green/New Zealand first movement.

   Keep up with the revisionist history Roger etc, and the years in opposition you so thoroughly deserve.

    Adrian I’m reading about Mussolini. I know your question was rhetorical but this is the crucial move in his end – he wanted to leave the country and the Germans wouldn’t let him pass. The populace turned on him after that.
